| The
H&CTA Chainsaw Operators Registration Scheme is designed to provide a
flexible way for Chainsaw operators to have their ability to operate a
chainsaw and associated equipment confirmed through formal Assessment.
Candidates achieving the standards are registered with the Highways &
Construction Training Association’s Chainsaw Operators' Registration
Scheme (CORS).

Who is the chainsaw
Operators Registration Scheme aimed at?
How
is the scheme administered?
Registered
Centres using qualified assessors carry out assessments to the Standards
set out by H&CTA. An
appointed H&CTA verifier in turn verifies the assessments. This
ensures that the Standards are maintained.
Is
any training necessary?
It
is expected that novices or those with limited experience will undergo
training prior to being assessed. Candidates
may undergo direct assessment where they feel that they can meet the
Standards without any further training.
How
do I contact a centre?
A list of centres
registered to offer CORS is available call 0117 968 1190 to enquire
about your nearest centre or select the link below.
The candidate will be placed on the
national register and provided with an identification card, which
indicates Units they have gained within the scheme and the expiry date for
each unit.
Registration
of candidates will be valid for a maximum period of three years from the
date of assessment. Re-registration
is by re-assessment for the units held.
Candidates may add other Units as necessary at any time and a new
identification card issued.
